install app-like Gmail on iOS 6

 Note: this was tried on iPhone 5 - iOS 6.1.4 this may not work for you.

Open Safari and sign into Gmail. Click share then add to home screen

Download this icon and send it to your device and open in iFile ( I used telegram it had the option to open in ifile) but you can also use a tool called iMazing, install Apple File Conduit 2 from cydia, and go to filesystem, then root, then var/mobile/Documents. click continue in the top right corner. 

Click image viewer then click edit and click the icon on the bottom right and click Cut

now go to var/mobile/Library/WebClips

Then the folder that is Gmail (if you have multiple open each one and check the one with the Gmail page screenshot)

Click on the arrow button and Rename the Gmail screenshot to icon.png.bak

Now click edit and the bottom right icon again and click Paste

Click the arrow Rename the icon to icon.png

Now open info.plist 

Change ClassicMode to false (you might not need to if you don’t have iPhone 5)

FullScreen 

To true

IconIsPrecomposed to true

IconIsScreenshotBased to false

Click save then done then respiring your device

You have successfully installed app like Gmail on your device!
